Our Purpose

We work to mobilize those who knew Skali’s story, those who saw her spirit in person, and those who have been moved by films like Resident Orca.

Together, we honor her memory by fighting for the survival of her wild family, the critically endangered Southern Resident killer whales, through advocacy, education, and action.

Sk’aliCh’elh-tenaut’s life was a gift.

Her legacy is a responsibility. We intend to carry it forward.

OUR CURRENT TAKE ACTION PROJECT:
Preserve the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA)

Right now, this cornerstone law, one of the strongest safeguards for whales, dolphins, and other marine mammals, is under threat. The MMPA protects Skali’s family, and all marine mammals in American waters.

Here's how you can help TODAY:
  1. Call your members of Congress and urge them to protect the Marine Mammal Protection Act.

  2. Tell your representatives why Southern Resident killer whales matter to you, and remind them that after decades of captures and salmon loss, we must protect these whales and all marine mammals in the Salish Sea.
